Today it came to my attention that an entire sea worth of open source software, an entire era of once valid and successful open source software, has withered on the vine.
I would date this phenomenon sometime around 2013. 2013 was the end of an era, and it was very uncermonious.
Today, we're all trapped in walled gardens and ecosystems, while all of this older open source stuff has been mostly left to rot. We literally wouldn't be dealing with these censorship issues right now had this not happened.
I have much more to say on this and will present my findings soon. But wow are we toast.
